Thank you for submittting your 2022 pledge.
Dear Church Family,
Presbyterians are pretty good at bringing their pieces together to create a hopeful and potential-filled picture honoring God and neighbor. Among the many ways to characterize the pandemic, one could conclude that it has been a very puzzling time…fragmented and isolated. Even so, Stewardship season for 2022 is upon us in this puzzling time. We, your Stewardship Committee, thought, “Why not, in the presence of God, have some fun. Rather than being weighed down by what puzzles us, we can celebrate the fact that so many pieces of our puzzle arrive to reveal the vibrant picture that is First Presbyterian.”
The challenge this year is significant but not entirely puzzling. These days are new and different. We have not missed a beat bringing pieces together throughout the pandemic with leaner staff. But that is not a sustainable approach. The budget invests in a staff that can, with God’s help, build a ministry that makes a difference in our community. This investment, while holding other costs very low, builds a staff and organization for this new paradigm. This budget was carefully scrutinized by each Session committee, then the Finance Committee and finally the entire Session. It is a 20% increase.
Please feel free to reach out to us with your questions or concerns. As we seek joy, stay focused and work hard, we will find the God-given way forward.
Sincerely,
The 2022 Stewardship Committee
